
Judy has lived in Fernie, B.C. since 1994. Originally from the eastern townships of Quebec, Judy studied photography at college, travelled and worked extensively then went on to complete a degree in geography at Concordia University. Some of her work experience includes newspaper and ski photography, film lab technician, photographer’s assistant in London, England and Banff, Alberta, as well as commercial and stock photography.
For more than 10 years she has worked as a freelance photographer specializing in action adventure, travel documentary and lifestyle images. Judy’s photography has been published in a variety of national and international publications such as Powder, Explore, National Geographic Adventure, Blue, Photo Life. Ski Canada, Bike, etc.
Judy’s work in progress is to document local notable individuals who have in some way made a mark on the culture of the Elk Valley. This series of original black and white medium format portraits will be presented at the Fernie Arts Station in February 2009. The exhibition is titled “Legends of the Elk Valley.”
